Year 4

Finally, we have reached the last and final term of this academic year. All students are working hard and trying their best in my class.

In English, we are focusing on recounts, narratives and conjunctions. Students got an opportunity to watch a musical show, ‘The Gruffalo’ at Eastbank Centre which was based on a children’s story book. They really enjoyed the production and learnt how narratives can be performed on the stage. In Mathematics, students have been doing worded problems based on basic four operations- addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. In Science, our focus is ‘Forces’ and students did few experiments in class to understand how different forces can move objects.

They also participated in the Interschool Athletics Day and our school’s Athletics Day and Lapathon.

Interschool Athletics Day

On Thursday 11th of October, Year 4 students participated in Interschool Athletics. They versed students from other primary schools in our area in their allocated groups. They all participated in Throw, Hurdles, Triple Jump, Distance, High Jump, Sprint, Shot Put and Long Jump. Some of them also took part in 800 Metre Race and Relay Race. I am very proud of my students’ performances and they achieved really good results. Below are the achievements that I would like to share with you.

Latifa Quwat- 1st in Distance and Sprint (Gold Girls)
Mariam Almosawy- 2nd in Distance (Gold Girls)
Milla Barker- 1st in Long Jump and 2nd in Hurdles (Green Group)
Maisam Quwat- 1st in Sprint and 3rd in Vortex Throw (Green Group)
Hussain Alshamarry- 1st in Hurdles (Green Group)
Latifa Quwat, Mariam Almosawy, Milla Barker and Sukaina Rafiee- 2nd in Relay Race (Gold Group)
Hussain Alshamarry, Maisam Quwat, Mostafa Alshafani and Mohamad Alnaseri- 3rd in Relay Race (Green Group)
